One of Sweden’s largest providers of Internet games asked us to help with a new Big Data project. The objectives were to analyze enormous amounts of data regarding player behavior and capture all the recorded events and writing persistent data to disk when so was needed. The solution we provided was based on several Open Source products like Hadoop, Kafka, Hive, NiFi, Storm and Spark. The final system can handle 150.000 events per second, where every event is 2kB.
